Tecno’s new Pova 7 Pro 5G is built for long gaming sessions, fast top-ups, and loud audio without pushing the price too high.
It brings a 1.5K 144 Hz AMOLED display, a huge 6000 mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging, and a Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chip that focuses on sustained performance.
The styling is gamer friendly too with a Delta Light LED interface at the back for alerts and animations.
Price in India, variants, sale window, where to buy
The Pova 7 Pro 5G is priced at ₹16,999 for 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and ₹17,999 for 8 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. Sales in India began at 12 pm IST on July 10, 2025.
You can buy it from Flipkart and through Tecno’s offline partner stores across major cities. Color options are Dynamic Grey, Geek Black, and Neon Cyan.
Display and design
The centerpiece is a 6.78 inch 1.5K AMOLED panel at 2720 x 1224 resolution. The refresh rate goes up to 144 Hz for smoother scrolling and better response in shooters and racers.
A 240 Hz touch sampling rate helps with faster touch recognition in competitive titles.
Peak brightness is claimed at up to 4500 nits for better visibility outdoors and HDR content that looks punchy. Gorilla Glass 7i adds protection against scratches and minor knocks.
Bezels are trimmed with a punch-hole camera, and the rear has Tecno’s Delta Light LED strip around the camera island. The LEDs can pulse for calls, charge status, music, and notifications.
The phone measures 163.5 x 75.9 x 8.15 mm and weighs 195 g, which is reasonable given the battery size. IP54 splash resistance is listed, so it can handle light rain and dust, but avoid full immersion.
Performance, storage, and thermal behavior
Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Ultimate built on a 4 nm class process. The CPU cluster is 4x Cortex-A78 up to 2.5 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 at 2.0 GHz, paired with Mali-G615 class graphics.
In the real world this combination is tuned for efficiency with reliable frame pacing in popular games like BGMI, Free Fire, and Asphalt.
Tecno’s Hyper Gaming Engine manages GPU scheduling and network optimization to reduce ping spikes, while a large vapor chamber and graphite layers help keep temperatures in check during longer sessions.
RAM is 8 GB, with memory expansion available through virtual RAM if you need a little headroom for heavy multitasking.
Storage options are 128 GB or 256 GB using UFS 2.2. That means faster app installs and game load times than older eMMC phones, though it is not as quick as UFS 3.x flagships. There is no microSD slot, so pick 256 GB if you download many big titles.

Battery, wired and wireless charging
A 6000 mAh cell is the star. Tecno bundles a 45 W charger in the box. You can expect a quick top-up from low charge to gaming ready in about half an hour.
The rare extra at this price is 30 W wireless charging on the Pro model. If you have a Qi stand on your desk, you can keep the phone topped while streaming or chatting without fiddling with cables.
Smart charging features limit heat during overnight plugs, and the system supports battery health protection for longer lifespan.
Cameras and video
The rear setup uses a 64 MP Sony IMX682 main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. Daylight shots look crisp with good dynamic range, and the ultrawide helps with group photos and architecture. Night mode pulls in more light with multi-frame processing.
The 13 MP front camera handles social clips and video calls cleanly. Video goes up to 4K at 30 fps on the rear and up to 4K at 30 fps on the selfie camera, which is handy for creators who like front-facing high-resolution logs.
Features include portrait, super night, slow motion, dual-video, timelapse, and a vlog mode.
Audio and haptics
The phone ships with stereo speakers tuned for loudness and a wider stage when held landscape. Dolby Atmos support enhances spatial cues in supported games and streaming apps.
There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so use USB-C or Bluetooth. The linear motor provides firmer haptic taps which you will notice when typing and in supported game actions.
Connectivity and sensors
Dual SIM 5G, 4G VoLTE, and 4×4 MIMO antenna design improve signal holding in weak spots and on crowded networks. Wi-Fi 6 with 802.11ax support boosts speeds on modern routers, useful for low-latency multiplayer and large game downloads.
Bluetooth works with modern codecs on current headsets. NFC is present for quick pair and tap features. There is an IR blaster, handy as a remote for TVs and ACs.
Location is backed by multi-GNSS for better accuracy outdoors. USB-C handles data and charging. There is no audio jack. Biometric security is via an in-display optical fingerprint reader, and face unlock is available.
Software and updates
The phone runs Android 15 with HiOS 15. Tecno’s Ella AI assistant supports Indian languages for alarms, voice replies, and quick actions.
Useful additions include game mode toggles, notification shade enhancements, call translation, and a clipboard tool.
Tecno states one Android version update and two years of security updates. That is typical for the segment but something to keep in mind if you plan to keep the device for more than two years.

Small touches that matter
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front improves durability compared to older budget phones. The box includes the 45 W charger, USB-C cable, and a protective case, so you can start using it without extra purchases.
The Delta Light interface on the rear is not just flair, it doubles as a glanceable status indicator while the phone is face down on a desk.

How these specs help in daily use
The 144 Hz AMOLED panel makes a clear difference in fast games and during quick scrolls through feeds, while 1.5K resolution keeps text sharp. The Dimensity 7300 Ultimate balances frame rates with cooler operation and better battery life than many older 6 nm chips.
UFS 2.2 storage reduces level load times and large app installs compared to entry phones with slower storage. The 6000 mAh battery means a full day of gaming plus social use is realistic, and wireless charging adds convenience if you dock the phone often.
Stereo speakers with Atmos make YouTube and reels more immersive when you do not have earbuds. Wi-Fi 6 and 4×4 MIMO stabilize streaming and downloads in crowded homes.
The IMX682 sensor is proven in the mid range, delivering reliable daylight photos and acceptable night results with less noise. Gorilla Glass 7i and IP54 give some peace of mind in Indian monsoons and daily knocks.
