Pixel’s A-series is back. Google Pixel 9a is now official in India with Gemini onboard, a bigger battery, brighter display, and the familiar clean Android experience.
It aims to bring the Pixel 9 family’s camera and AI tricks to a more accessible price.
Price in India, Variants, Availability
Pixel 9a is priced at ₹49,999 in India. The first sale went live on April 16, 2025 at 12 pm IST.
You can buy it on Flipkart and partner retail stores across India, and it is also listed on the Google Store India with periodic limited-time discounts.
The India market is offering an 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant, available in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Iris colourways.
During festive and seasonal promos, street prices have dipped as low as ₹44,999 on Flipkart, while the Google Store has run ₹5,000 instant-off promotions in India.
What’s New at a Glance
Google’s mid-ranger gets a design refresh with a flat back and a subtle camera module, a jump to a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED panel, a larger 5100 mAh battery, and IP68 dust and water resistance.
Under the hood is Tensor G4 with Titan M2 security. Gemini is integrated across the UI for quick help, neatly tied to core Google apps.

Display and Design
The 6.3-inch Actua pOLED screen runs at 1080 x 2424 with up to 120 Hz adaptive refresh. Peak brightness touches 2700 nits, which is 35 percent brighter than the previous A-series, so outdoor visibility in Indian summers is much better.
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the front, with a composite matte back and a satin metal frame.
The chassis is IP68-rated, which means solid protection against dust and short submersion, though as with all IP-rated phones, liquid damage is not covered under warranty and resistance can degrade over time.
Dimensions are 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 mm and weight is about 186 g, making it pocket-friendly.
Performance, RAM, and Storage
Tensor G4 powers the Pixel 9a with 8 GB LPDDR5X RAM. Storage is UFS 3.1. In day-to-day use, UFS 3.1 keeps app installs and file transfers quick, and the faster RAM helps with multitasking and AI features.
Tensor G4 also drives camera processing, voice features, and on-device AI workloads. It is backed by the Titan M2 security chip for hardware-level protection.
Battery and Charging
A 5100 mAh battery is rated for 30-plus hours, and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver for emergencies.
Wired fast charging goes up to the low-20-watt range, and there is Qi wireless charging support, making quick top-ups simple on a pad.
If you spend long hours in commute or keep mobile data and GPS active, the larger pack helps keep screen-on time comfortable without babysitting a charger.
Cameras
At the back, the 48 MP primary sensor with OIS is joined by a 13 MP ultrawide. The front camera is 13 MP.
You get up to 8x Super Res Zoom, 4K video recording, Night Sight, Portrait Light, Macro Focus on the ultrawide, and Google’s class-leading computational processing that handles HDR tone mapping and skin tones well.
The 9a leans on Tensor G4 for faster autofocus and cleaner low-light shots compared to older A-series models.

Pixel 9a supports 5G sub-6 in India with dual SIM options via nano-SIM and eSIM. You also get Wi-Fi 6/ax, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC for tap-to-pay and pairing, USB Type-C 3.2 for faster data, stereo speakers, and an under-display fingerprint reader along with face unlock.
